Currently a survey by Streetwise Subbie and published in Building.co.uk found that 9 out of 10 subcontractors wait over 30 days for payment.
It is suggested that for companies earning under £700k a year that maximum payment terms are legislated and cannot exceed 30 days and that no matter what the contract states a subcontractor has a right to demand payment after 30 days.
