Rejected petition New rules to be created governing MP’s Pay and Expenses
More details
MP pay rises should be fixed to the UK rate of inflation. Additionally, all MP expenses should be capped equal to the level of minimum wage (£12675 per annum in 2014).
House of Parliament attendance payment of £150 or £300 to be changed from daily to weekly and capped at £450 or £900, allowing a yearly increase in line with the UK rate of inflation and only paid if a minimum of 5 days (minimum 5 hours per day) are attended.
Any qualifying item(s) that are claimed for can only be paid at the lowest cost; for example: If a pack of cleaning wipes can be bought for £1 and the claim is for £5, then the value of £1 will be paid.
If repeated over-priced claims are applied for (more than 10) from any one claimant, then future claims will be denied.
