Although there may be an instruction book with the item it may not very good or safe  if the consumer is unable to follow them. This could result in injury or death in come situations. It seems to be too easy these days to package an item up, sell it and expect the consumer to be responsible to fit them together. The general public are not experts on everything in the universe.
