Pound stores allow a reprieve for many across the UK who cannot afford equivalents elsewhere. Allowing Poundland to absorb 99p stores will eventually result in job losses through store closures, pressure on supplier prices and more limited availability for consumers. This will also have a major impact on the UK built business Poundworld.
