The stocks - more humane than the chopped off hands of Sharia Law - Cheap and Extremely Effective, would stop most crime, looting and GBH. Reoffending would be unknown. 8 hrs protected from all but hurled abuse, photos, jeers and a warders cheery "see you again next and every Monday for the next 3 months" would drive the worst to emigrate. University of Crime Residential courses at £25,000/yr; trebling the size of the police force or fining amounts we have to provide from taxation for those on benefits is simply punishing ourselves.
