Petition Review RdSAP energy performance assessments of Air Source Heat Pumps
The Government should review the RdSAP energy performance assessments (last updated in 2012) and ensure these align with Government policy on decarbonising homes and using more efficient newer sources of heating.
More details
Currently the Reduced Data SAP (used for all EPC's on existing properties) gives a lower score for ASHPs than for older gas boilers, leading to lower energy ratings. This can deter people from installing heat pumps.
This goes against the Government's push to decarbonise UK homes and install more air source heat pumps.
